About Virginia Egg Council

The Virginia Egg Council (VEC) is the official trade association operating under contract with the Virginia Egg Board to promote, research, and market eggs in Virginia. Working in partnership with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, VEC develops and delivers consumer education, public outreach, advertising, and industry-focused research to raise awareness of Virginia eggs and support local producers.

Tax funds are collected on all eggs for sale, use, and consumption in the Commonwealth. The tax supports the Virginia Egg Board research, education, publicity, advertising, and promotion of Virginia eggs and egg products.
